So you own a website, probably a very nice one, but this does not get you traffic and without traffic your website is worthless. The only way you are going to make money is if you have good, regular traffic. There are many ways of drawing visitors to your site, although to get the traffic free is a very daunting task. Submitting your site to online directories will give you backlinks. There are hundreds of directories out there, submit to as many as you can. These links are very valuable in raising your search engine Page Rank. The higher the Page Rank of the directory, the more benefit it will give you.

To submit to a lot of directories consider using a submission service as they can do it very quickly whereas it would take you a very long time.

Putting an article on a blog is a great way to improve your ranking. You should find blogs that are relevant to your service and ask the owner if you can submit an article, with your link of course. If the owner is not inclined to accept your suggestion, no problem just post a comment on one of his articles.
