E-business a struggle for small firms – RTE.ie

Small business group ISME says many of its members are struggling to implement internet sales strategies. In its latest e-business survey, ISME found that 61% of the 237 firms surveyed used e-mail for more than half of their correspondence. E-mail was the preferred medium for all areas of incoming correspondence, but the phone still accounted for 20% for customer orders. Only 4% of the businesses surveyed were using dial-up internet, with 74% having DSL broadband access.
