(Article Marketing) Stafford, Hartman Discuss Green Marketing Techniques – Utah Business

In a recent conference held by the Utah Advertising Federation, Utah State University professors Edwin Stafford and Cathy Hartman discussed ways companies can market their green products to those who are reluctant to hop on the green bandwagon. Though the go-green trend seems to be here to stay, Stafford says that some consumers “are still rather fickle when it comes to green products. Because of this, he says that “many green products have ended up in the ‘green graveyard’ simply because mainstream consumers didn’t find them effective or worthwhile. To market green products, then, Stafford and Hartman say that advertising and marketing agencies must “appeal to consumers beyond the narrow ‘green niche’ of consumers. Go after mainstream consumers rather than simply the narrow green niche to enhance sales,” Stafford says. read more
